LORD, WHAT’S UP?

Don Leavell Blog, Truth to Live By

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

During the forty days after His crucifixion, He (Jesus) appeared to the Apostles from time to time and proved to them in many ways that He was actually alive. In one of these meetings, He told them that they were not to leave Jerusalem until they received the promise of the Father (Acts 1:4). The promise of the Father is the baptism with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is here, and all we must do is receive Him. He is the power that we need for life and godliness! He leads and guides us into all truth. He has the responsibility of teaching us what we have in Christ Jesus (blessings too numerous to count), but we must endure the enigma of waiting! Scripture tells us to “wait on the Lord; be of good courage” (Psalm 27:14). As believers, we are empowered with the Holy Spirit, therefore, waiting should not be so problematic for us. The process of waiting intertwines us in the Lord!

Think for a moment, we have received the promise of the ages! Christ Jesus lives within us by the Holy Spirit! You have become more than a conqueror through Him! Therefore, I exhort you not to fear surrendering to win, losing to gain, or giving to receive. We are now in His eternal Kingdom, living by His Life! It is amazing that Jesus, by His resurrection, inaugurated this new era. This period in which we live is marked by the presence of God in His people! We are now filled and baptized with the Holy Spirit of God! Jesus has begun this new day!

In Christ,

Pastor Don
