To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:21).
The glory of God is of inestimable value to every born-again person. It is we, believers, who must have appreciation and honor for Him because those who do not know Him cannot convey His glory. Although unbelievers may see this glory, they will not understand it until they repent then their eyes become open to God’s truth! When we are born again, we see and enter God’s incomprehensible glory-the glory of God! In simple terms, the glory of God is His majestic reality and awe, His beauty being illuminated to the human faculty that which is infinitely greater than the greatest expression of greatness the earth could ever offer; it is the realization of God! Let us examine a few scriptures that speak of this glory.
“And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord’ (Luke 2:9-11). Jesus Christ’s birth was announced to shepherds with frightening and earth-changing glory! This glory is from another realm bringing possibilities far beyond our world. Jesus Christ would bring to humanity the revelatory glory of God, His greatness, and His possibilities! He says in John, “and the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me” (John 17:22-23). This is the glory of God “that they may be one” regardless of background or previous experiences. This glory now rests in redeemed humanity! “To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:21).
This greatness of God has been given to the repentant sinner! Jesus has delivered God’s glory to us and our children forever! This comprehensive glory must be fully comprehended in the body of Christ, the Church!
