The Lord brings us into places where we don’t know what to do. I know sometimes we think that these times just happen–as though they could happen without the notice of God. They don’t “just happen”.  God leads us into places where we don’t know what to do in order that He may teach us, that He may be able to teach us what to do.

If you have never been in a situation where you don’t know what to do, you’ve not walked very long with God.  You’ve not gone far with Him, for there are those times and places where all that you have ever been taught is not enough.  All of your knowledge and all of your wisdom aren’t enough.  You are in a place where it is just you and the Lord.  It’s a place of training you’ve never been to before.

Brother Mario once said, “When we get to the place where we seem to know everything, God takes us to a place where we don’t know anything.  And we start all over again learning the same lessons that we had mastered on the lower level.  We learn them all over again.

There was a king of Judah named Jehoshaphat.  One day he received reports that a mighty army was advancing toward the people of Judah.  This army was coming against them with overwhelming odds–they were too big, too strong and too powerful.  Jehoshaphat looked to the Lord and said,

“Lord, this multitude is too great for us. Neither do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You!”

That is an amazing statement isn’t it?!  God brings us to places where we must focus, focus on Him because everything else fails.  Nothing else is able to do what we need.  At these moments we learn focus; we learn He is where we must turn our eyes.  He alone is our help.  We become master over distractions, and we put all of our attention on Jesus Christ.  That’s when our Help comes to us.
