THE VISION

Don Leavell Blog, Truth to Live By

And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).

I would like to thank all of you again and again for your attendance and support for the vision of Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship. I would like to at this time reiterate the vision of this work with you. The Lord made certain promises to us that He will fulfill in His own time as we are obedient to every Word. One of the promises He made, we have been walking in: that we would travel throughout the world proclaiming Jesus and that many would come from various parts of this world to our city and this Fellowship.

I believe the Lord desires further to give us a baptism in the love of Jesus and in the knowledge of His Word that we would know those things that the apostles knew and walked in. The promise that the Gospel of the Kingdom would be preached in all the world is still outstanding; therefore, since it is outstanding, let us pick up the baton and run this race that has been set before us. I truly believe that you and I are chosen to take the message of Jesus to the four corners of the world. The Words of Jesus resonate within my heart: “go into all the world and preach the Gospel” (Mark 16:15).

When the disciples asked Jesus would He at this time restore the kingdom to Israel, He answered them, “it is not for you to know the times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:7-8).

I feel that I have picked up this burden and since we are one, you picked it up with me. I would like for your heart to burn with the desire to be pleasing to the Lord and to please Him. Paul said to Timothy, “the things you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). I am considering all of you “to be the faithful men.”

I am looking forward to preaching and teaching you the Word of God today. My desire is that you will be very, very, hungry.

Thank you
